Much like many other cannabis strains, Green Crack’s origin story is disputed. Some sources claim it was initially bred in Georgia in the 1970s, but it was more likely to be developed in 1990 by Cecil C. from Athens, Ohio who grew it from a 1989 Super Sativa Seed Club variety of Skunk #1 and released it as a clone-only strain. 

Green Crack’s lineage includes an unknown Indica, with speculators suggesting either Afphani #1 or Hindu Kush.
